FAQ

Does TidyText work offline?
Yes — always. TidyText makes no network requests. Open, edit, format, and save without an internet connection.
What languages are supported for syntax highlighting?
JSON, JavaScript, TypeScript, Swift, HTML, XML, CSS / SCSS / LESS, YAML, Markdown, and more out of the box. The tokenizer is pluggable, so new languages are easy to add.
What file types can I open?
Any plain-text or source-code file through the native file picker. Office formats like .docx and .pdf are intentionally excluded — TidyText is a text editor, not a viewer.
Where are my files stored?
Wherever you choose. TidyText opens files through the system picker using security-scoped bookmarks, so files in iCloud Drive, Files, or other providers keep working across launches.
Is there an Android or macOS version?
Not at the moment. TidyText is iPhone and iPad only.
Does it collect any data?
No. There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, and no network calls. Crash reports go through Apple if (and only if) you've opted in at the iOS level.
