Privacy Policy

Auren is built so that we cannot see your data — there is no Auren server, no account, and no analytics SDK in the app. This policy describes exactly what that means and the one optional network feature you can choose to use.

What we collect
Nothing. Auren has no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no telemetry. Every account, transaction, budget, category, tag, recurring rule, insight, and exchange-rate override is stored only on your device.

On-device storage
Your data lives in a SwiftData store inside Auren's sandboxed app container. Premium entitlements are cached in the Keychain so Premium features stay available offline. Widgets read a Codable snapshot from the App Group group.com.ayman.budget — never directly from SwiftData.

The single optional network call
Auren makes no network requests by default. If you tap 'Refresh' in Settings → Currency, the app calls Frankfurter — a public European Central Bank reference-rate endpoint — to update fiat exchange rates. The request contains only a currency code and a date; there is no API key, no account, and no identifier. The rates are persisted locally with a 'Frankfurter · ECB' source label and a timestamp.

Purchases
Auren Premium is sold by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not see your name, email, billing address, or card details — only an anonymous entitlement signal. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your Apple ID's subscription settings.

Diagnostics
Auren bundles no crash reporter. iOS may collect anonymous crash logs if (and only if) you have opted in via Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers. Those reports are routed to Apple, not to a third party, and contain no transaction or balance data.

Imports, exports, and backups
CSV, JSON, and full-database .auren.json files you export are written by Auren and saved wherever you choose through the system file picker. If you place them in iCloud Drive or another provider, that provider's privacy policy applies to the file at rest. Auren itself never uploads them.

Children's privacy
Auren does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. We collect no personal information from anyone at all.
